Mi vida esta en las manos de Dios is the story of a Colombian immigrant living in the United States. Ortiz shares the valuable and touching experiences of his personal and family life. A period marked by suffering, the death of his parents, grandmother, a brother, and the stress of chasing the "American dream" led him to turn to God for the answers to his misfortune. Ortiz describes his years in Columbia, where he studied and graduated with a degree in law. After working for a time in government, he became disillusioned with the rampant corruption and violence in his native Columbia. He realized that ending the violence, which drug cartels had taken to the highest levels of political power through tactics of terror, would be impossible. He then decides to immigrate to the United States, where he begins a new life, forms a family, and works hard to make a living. After a heart attack that nearly killed him, he discovers the true path he has to take. This discovery also moved him to share his story with others who need help finding their way.
